OPEN's Terms of Reference
Terms of Reference: Steering Committee for Open Patient Data Explorative Network (OPEN)
At the Group Executive Forum meeting on 3 October 2017, it was decided that, from 2018, OPEN would be expanded to serve as a shared research infrastructure for all five hospital units in the Region of Southern Denmark.
- Purpose
- The Steering Committee of OPEN is responsible for overseeing the development of OPEN as a unified research infrastructure across all five hospital units in the Region of Southern Denmark. The committee provides advice to the different research councils, the executive boards of the hospital units, and the Regional Strategic Research Council on matters related to OPEN.
- The responsibilities of the Steering Committee include:
- Ensuring that OPEN functions effectively for all stakeholders.
- Advising the daily management of OPEN on its operations, strategy, and vision.
- Establishing guidelines for the use of OPEN’s facilities.
- Members of the Steering Committee
The Steering Committee consists of representatives from all hospital units in the Region of Southern Denmark, the Department of Clinical Research, and the Department of Regional Health Research:- The Research Director of OUH, who serves as the chair of the Steering Committee.
- The Head of the Department of Clinical Research.
- The Head of the Department of Regional Health Research.
- The Head of OPEN.
- Four representatives from Odense University Hospital.
- One representative from Lillebaelt Hospital.
- One representative from Southwest Jutland Hospital.
- One representative from Hospital Sønderjylland.
- One representative from the Regional Psychiatric Hospital of South Denmark.
Meetings are also attended by OPEN's Head of Project Coordination and Administration and a consultant from the research team in Economics and Planning, who provide secretarial support to the Steering Committee.
- Meeting Frequency
- The Steering Committee meets twice annually.
