OPEN is a research support unit dedicated to assisting health researchers in the Region of Southern Denmark with various aspects of their research projects, including data collection, data analysis, biobank services, registry data, and research formalities.

OPEN is a department within Odense University Hospital (OUH), led by Anna Skat Nielsen, who manages daily operations alongside the heads of OPEN's facilities and the head of research. Strategic guidance is provided by the Steering Committee, which consists of twelve representatives from OUH management, the Department of Clinical Research and the Department of Regional Health Research at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU), and five hospital units in the Region of Southern Denmark.
